What is domain hosting?

Domain hosting and web hosting generally refer to the provision of storage space on the Internet, sometimes called online storage.

This storage space is made available via the web server by means of a physical and virtual server that can be accessed online. Domain and web hosting usually cover related services, for example, one’s own domain. This is where the term domain hosting comes from.

When you opt for an IONOS web hosting plan, your domain is included with your hosting plan. A domain is the URL name by which your website can be found online, for example: “yourcompany.com,” “yourname.blog” or “yourdomain.org”.
